The North Smithfield Police Department is attempting to identfy a suspect involved in a bank robbery that occurred at the Citizens Bank, 67 Eddie Dowling Highway, North Smithfield, RI.

On Wednesday, 4/6/2016, at approximately 9:43 AM, a suspect entered Citizens Bank and ordered everyone to the floor before demanding cash. The teller gave him a dye pack (red dye) with an undetermined amount of money. The die pack exploded outside the bank as the suspect fled.

The suspect is described as a male, approximately 6’ tall, medium build, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt that could be possibly stained with red dye, a black homemade ski mask, grey sweatpants with 2” to 3” strip on the side of the pant leg possibly stained with red dye.

The suspect was last seen running from the lower rear parking lot in a southerly direction. No weapon was shown. It is unknown at this time if a vehicle was involved.
