On Wednesday, August 30th, 2023, at approximately 1521 hours, Smithfield Police were dispatched to Bank of RI located at 445 Putnam Pike (Apple Valley Mall) for an attempted Bank Robbery. A Hispanic female entered the bank eating a banana and demanded money. No weapon was shown and no money was obtained. The female suspect possibly left in a small grey SUV. Please see below photos.
