WANTED:
RIGOBERTO B. VASQUEZ (53) of Attleboro, MA.
He is described as being 6' tall, 168 lbs, having gray hair and brown eyes. He has a previous address in Providence, RI.
On 1/17/2016 at approximately 3:05 am, officers responded to the area of 535 Roosevelt Avenue for a serious car and pedestrian accident where the suspect vehicle had fled the scene. A victim had been located at the scene with very serious, life threatening injuries.
The operator, later identified as Rigoberto Vasquez (53), of Attleboro, MA, was later located and arrested. He was arraigned on charges of Driving while Intoxicated – Bodily Injury; Duty to Stop – Accident Resulting in Serious Personal Injury; Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test; and Driving with an Expired License.
VASQUEZ was ordered held on a high bail and later transported to the ACI until his re-arraignment in 6th District Court. However, VASQUEZ posted bail and was released. Sometime after VASQUEZ'S release on bail, the victim pedetrian died as of result of injuries sustained in the accident.
As a result of the victim's death, the suspect would have to been arraigned on new charges of DUI (Driving Under the Influence) with Death Resulting, Leaving the Scene with Death Resulting, and Reckless Driving with Death Resulting.
The suspect has since failed to appear for the court hearing. An arrest warrant has been issued for the arrest of RIGOBERTO VASQUEZ (53), of Pawtucket, RI.
