The Cranston Police Department is attempting to identify a suspect involved in an armed robbery that occurred in the 300 block of Wellington Ave.

On Saturday 9/24/16 at approx. 7:00 AM, an armed street robbery occurred on Wellington Avenue. The victim was approached by the suspect on foot while walking north under the Rt. 95 overpass on Wellington Avenue. The suspect brandished a black semi-automatic styled handgun and demanded money. The suspect then physically assaulted the victim which included striking him with the handgun.

The suspect appears to be an Hispanic male, in his late 20's to early 30's in age and of average height and weight. The suspect also had black facial hair. He was wearing a dark colored baseball styled hat, a dark colored T-shirt, white plaid colored shorts and black sneakers.

The suspect vehicle appears to be a 2005-2007 silver Saturn Vue (SUV). The suspect fled the scene north in that vehicle on Wellington AV. toward the city of Providence.
