The Rhode Island State Police Major Crimes Unit is attempting to identify a male suspect involved in counterfeit check scam.

The suspect conspired with two female suspects to deposit a counterfeit check into a checking account and subsequently made fraudulent withdrawals and purchases with the cash obtained.

On 10/15/2016, the unidentified male suspect withdrew funds from that account at Citizens Bank in Woonsocket and made fraudulent purchases at Walgreens and Stop & Shop in North Smithfield.
