The Smithfield Police Department is attempting to identify 3 suspects involved in the passing of counterfeit money at the 7-Eleven, 970 Douglas Pike, Smithfield, RI.

On Friday, 12/12/2017, at approximately 5 PM, two male suspects and a female suspect entered 7-Eleven. The one male suspect wearing a hoodie purchased numerous food items then came back to load money onto a Green Dot prepaid card.

The notes were later determined to be counterfeit. A total of (17) $20 notes were passed.
