March 25, 2014 - Cranston : Convenience Store
The Cranston Police Department is attempting to identify a suspect involved in an armed robbery that occurred at the Ocean State Market, 341 Dyer Avenue. The store is located in the Arlington section of Cranston.
On Tuesday, 03/25/14 at approximately 2:28 PM, a male suspect entered the convenience store with a handgun an robbed the clerk of an undetermined amount of cash and cigarettes. (possibly Newport 100 brand cigarettes)
The suspect is described as a black male, skinny, 5'7" to 5'8" tall, wearing a blue hat, blue jeans, a blue hoody, and black and white sneakers. He had a light colored mask covering half of his face. The suspect was also carrying a black handgun and Red gym bag or "sling bag". The suspect may be left handed.
The suspect also attempted to rob customer in the store but was unsuccessful. The suspect fled northerly from the store toward Farmington Ave.
Cranston Police detectives have idenified the suspect in this case as MONTRELL HOPPER (19) from Providence. HOPPER has currently wanted on charges two counts of 1st degree robbery, two counts of use of a firearm while committing a crime of violence and license required to carry a pistol.
Hopper is also wanted by the Providence Police Department on 1st degree robbery charges.
MONTRELL HOPPER is considered ARMED & DANGEROUS.
